Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Let's talk endurance goals for '06 - Juli Jakub

Thank you for the encouragment Dawn! I need to hear stuff like that! I do ride in the winter funnily enough. I think I am going to get a winter riding suit this year!! It's like a gigantic kids snowsuit with leather full seat! I ski jore with the mustang ( in other words I get on and ride and we attach a line from the saddle that my husband on his snowboard holds. We then go galloping around in the snow while he gets powder turns. We have even pulled him off of some small jumps!) It is actually great conditioning. On good snow years he is his most fit in the winter from dragging Zack and the snowboard around! It is cold, but there is something special about winter riding especially if you have a thermos of hot chocolate to go to after your done! But when it is -30 and icy it is REALLY frustrating, but then I just do long walks in hand all over the property and work on ground manners and ground exercises. Walking the horses keeps me warmer, but with all my layers I don't look human...just like some sort of gigantic ball of clothing walking a horse!
