As Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations" and those of the
horse, no doubt.
Riding within the limits of the rider's and the horse's abilities, fluid as
they are, is key.
Done enough times, those limits will encompass more distance or more speed,
or more LD's in a given timeframe, or whatever the rider deems reasonable for
the "team".
