I agree with your sentiment. At
our ride, I ALWAYS read the horse's name as well as the rider's at the awards
program. And I give the horse's name as winning BC, rather than the
rider's. I chuckle when someone announces that "Jane Doe" won BC.
It's not about the rider in this category!
Also, I know at the larger rides, it would take extra time at
the awards ceremony to announce the horse's name also, BUT since she did carry
me on that ride, she should at least get half the recognition.
