Yes, we have to share trails.

Why? We don't share pavement with NASCAR drivers! Obviously even though they can use the same pavement, the format of use is *incompatible* and therefore dangerous to both types of drivers. Ditto for hiking/riding and biking. Anyone who wants to barrel down trails at speeds more appropriate for freeways shouldn't be on the same trail as those on foot (be they human or horse).

I've got nothing against trail bikers, just keep 'em off foot trails. And keep hikers and equestrians off of speed trails. Simple enough. Yeah, double the number of trails, but is a horse's (or human's) life worth it?
