Re: [RC] {RC] conditioning and then some fun - DArcy Moser

How very true.  This brings to mind when as a young woman, Robin Forester, let her horse rub his head up against her back while in the paddock and his stall.  Then one day on a small ride on top of a very steep hill, on a very narrow path, she got off to walk for a whle.  Her horse proceeded to, abruptly, rub his forehead into her back.  She lost her footing - and well - I am sure you all know the rest of the story!  Suffice it to say - I don't ever let a horse rub their forehead on my back.  Six months of casts and traction would not be a fun thing to do.

Very true! However, one must not forget that everytime
you handle a horse you are teaching it something,
including negative responses and/or bad habits. Good
training is essential for a good horse, and it is a
lifelong commitment to continue the training. Luckily
it gets easier as time progresses ;0)
