  Out here in the Southwest, the cow bell idea can be dangerous. You 
see, some hunters out here feel that they simply must bring some meat 
home from their huntin' trip, so if they don't get an elk or a deer, 
they've been known to drop a cow or two. Depending on how low a given 
hunter is on patience and Budweiser, you might be sending an invitation 
for gunfire in your general direction. Even then, it can be difficult to 
convince an errant hunter to let you get your saddle off of his elk 
before he takes the carcass away.     Bruce Weary
