Yeeks, I was not bad mouthing Dr. Ribley. I was just stating her opinion that
was published in EN and MY opinion to that. I have never met her, but anyone
who has done what she has for the sport is worth admiring. I think that is why
I was surprised at her opinion on LD. My husband, that I was mentioning would
do LD, is also a vet and that is partially why I feel so strongly about the
subject, because it appears that AERC thinks LD folks need more guidance
because otherwise they would just race around the 25 miles and hurt their
horses. That is the point I have been trying to make, is LD has many (if not
most) riders that are competent horse people that for one reason or another
can't do longer distances. For those that are new to the sport perhaps create
a novice class for their first rides so that THEY are not racing around the
field.
