Re: [RC] Acorns - Chris Paus

I think they do like acorns a lot! My horses and goats eat them. Thank goodness the oak trees are in the yard and not the horse pasture, so the horses have limited access to them.

however, a month ago when my stallion coliced, after the vet came out and did his thing and the horse started feeling better, the first thing Szybki wanted to eat was acorns off the ground!

The vet did tell me, "that's probably not the best thing for him to eat right now."

Mmm Angie, he may not be eating acorns because he is
necessarily hungry but for some other reason like
they crunch or taste good or something. But what
I want to know is did you ever figure out what was
wrong with him? From the posts it doesn't seem
like acorn poisoning would cause these symptoms unless
the symptoms were a reflection of abdominal discomfort.
