I have to say I disagree with that. A farrier should shape the shoe to the horses foot and not the other way around. You should prepare a shoe for an already balanced foot, not prepare a foot to fit a shoe!


We er................that was exactly my farriers point. The shoe should fit the horse and you can do that without ever putting a hot shoe next the the horse's foot. Those that haven't had 25 years of experience shoe disciplines form reining and dressage to eventing to endurance has a pretty good knowledge about how to do that.

Hot shoeing has it's place - but it should be the exception rather than the rule.
