[RC] Another Lost Shoe!!! - Don Huston

Hello Mary,
Check the link below, click on "Natural Balance Shoes" and print the page for your farrier to see what he thinks about putting a set on the rears to make it harder for Bruiser to step on the fronts. You say Bruiser has good feet but once a shoe is yanked off the farrier has no good place to re-nail the shoe and the hoof is being damaged. I had the same problem 3+ years ago when my horse kept yanking the right front. The 3rd time in 4 months he made himself lame. I pulled his shoes and used Old Macs for awhile to grow some new foot thinking I would put steel shoes back on later but the boots worked great for me so my horse is still barefoot. I ride endurance with "modified" Old Macs and my horse has almost perfect feet. Good Luck
