[RC] Pros and Cons of confinement systems - Carolyn Burgess

I have the Farnam portable metal corral. It makes a
12 x 12 corral, is lightweight and very sturdy. I was
at Doncaster last year when a horse got loose right
next to us, and ran right next to my corral. My horse
got spooked by it and slammed into the corral, pushing
it about 3 feet but it never lost integrity. My guy
is about 15.3" and weighs about 1100lbs.

At another ride I witnessed two horses escape from
their metal corrals, but the effort it took was
amazing. They repeated slammed into the panels until
they finally pulled them apart. It took quite the
effort and about 2 minutes. I think had the owners of
the horses been present, they could have prevented the
escape.
