[RC] WEG completions - Ridecamp Guest

Stagg,
I was not creating an "us or them" mentality when I addressed my post to you.
I was simply stating that the qualifications for the WEC are much more
stringent then the Tevis or the NC. I am sure you realize that both the Tevis
and the NC do NOT require the rider or horse to have completed a 100 mile ride
as previous to entry. On the other hand, the WEC not only requires at least
one 100 mile ride but requires an FEI COC. This certificate, if I understand
correctly, means that a 100 mile ride needs to be completed in a certain amount
of time or that the rider need to finish within a certain percentile of the
other FEI competitors. To me, this means that the WEC competitors are much
more experienced for the 100 mile distance then competitors at either the Tevis
Cup or NC. Therefore I would assume the completion rate at the WEC to be
higher.
Your other points are quite valid and I am sure that there are several
factors to contribute to the low completion rate.

Kim Fuess
