RE: [RC] Riding with chronic back pain--Lyn - Mary Krauss

Dear Lyn,

I am a doctor and the husband of a horse person. God will bless me in the end I'm sure, for the latter not the former. Just reviewed over 600 pages of complete nonsense from multiple doctors on a back pain case. Don't believe anyone about anything. But, one thing is clear, nerves do die if they are crushed long enough. It's appropriate to be as worried as you are. You need clearance from someone who has seen crippling disease, not just everyday back pain.

I wouldn't give up the love of my life on just one opinion. There are good and bad neurologists and shades of grey in between. Most have private specialty interests in one particular section of neurology and are just average everywhere else. Shop around until you're satisfied with the consistency in opinion.

Stable boy (I wish)
