[RC] Back pain - Dean A. Conti

Bruce,

So what professional suggestion do you have for a four day sore lower back caused by yanking out a large clump of Tansy Ragwort from the pasture?

Actually I would be interested in "eavesdropping" on this subject, such as what is the best way to strengthen the lower back? I'm 51 and not getting any younger. Truly youth IS wasted on the young...

 Hi Lyn--

I'm sorry for what you are going through with your back pain, and you have brought up some very interesting points about the nature of your pain, treatment and common notions about back pain and riding. I thought I would respond in an attempt to be of some help, remembering that advice is worth what you pay for it. With your permission, maybe we can conduct a dialog about your problem here on RC and other Ridecampers can benefit by "eavesdropping" or ask questions themselves, and perhaps more than one person can be helped. We know that back and spine pain is an issue for many riders, and this may be an effective way to clear some things up for some people. If you're not comfortable with that, feel free to email me privately, and I will do what I can to help. What do you say?
