[RC] white line - Kathy Ramspott

What remedies can any of you recommend for white line/seedy toe? I've had a farrier tell me to put shoes on, I've had a vet tell me to keep it clean and I've read the hoof wall needs to be pared away. All I'm doing right now is keeping it clean until the farrier can come back out since it hasn't gotten any better. Should I insist he pare it away? It isn't deep, maybe 1/8 - 1/4 inch in. I've been using thrush buster (at the recommendation of my vet). I used clorox once but really hated doing that, didn't seem right.
