[RC] Thin saddle pads/blankets - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I've used a plain blanket before, but you do have
to be really careful to smooth it out. I've switched
to a Western wool felt "underpad" as my sole pad. They
are about 1/4" - 3/8" thick, real cheap ($10-15), and
you can use it alone even though the guy in the Western
saddle shop might look alarmed if you tell him this.
Available through numerous catalogs, too.

I'm a great believer in "if the saddle fits, why do
you need to spend big bucks on a corrective pad?"

Does anyone out there use a plain
navajo blanket for distance riding? I'm a little
worried about the wrinkles/creases it seems they can
get in them. Is that a hypothetical worry or a
possible true problem? Any other suggestions for a
VERY thin very light very breathable natural fiber
blanket/pad?
