Whether you like to think of the rides as businesses or
not, they are to the Ride Managers. It boils down to
simple accounting and cost management. Every business has
fixed costs (camp rentals, vet fees, aerc fees, etc) that have
to be paid regardless of the number or units (in this case
riders). It doesn't matter if 10 or 50 people show up
the differences are in the variable costs, those that do change
based on the number of riders who show up.

In the NATRC region Open and Novice riders pay the same fee
Open rides farther at a slightly faster pace than Novice.
We all require the same amenities. I don't really see much
difference between LD and 50 when using that mentality.
