[RC] cost of ridesf - Kathy

Hi, I'm a little slow getting on this thread but was wondering when someone
was going to bring it up. I'm really feeling the crunch of high fuel prices
and canceled out two rides this summer due to the cost of getting there and
back. Sold my backup horse to buy an fuel efficient car earlier in the year
and am really glad I did since I can't afford to shoe and haul to condition
two horses now. Since I have to haul to get in much conditioning I'm looking
for a riding buddy who lives close by. Any ideas of how to entice riders who
normally ride slow pleasure rides to try my speed? I also am cutting out
eating out, and not driving into town if I can help it. Sure don't want to
see AERC raise their prices along with everyone else. Happier Trails, Kathy
Crothers Fayetteville, AR.
