There's a lot of truth in what Mike says;
however, there is something quite terrifying about being bitten by an
animal. One of our own dogs bit me one time; he had had distemper and I
didn't know that's what it was. I accidentally stepped on his toe and he
lashed out and bit me on the leg. I was terribly startled and frightened
and started crying. I wouldn't have done that if my horse stepped on my
toe!

on down the line. If humans are threatened with extinction it's by our own
hand, not by these last remnants of the
