Re: [RC] Wide/narrow twist - rdcarrie

I know for me, if I do much riding at a walk, my knees will hurt.  I solve the issue by taking my feet out of the stirrups and letting my legs hang periodically when riding at a walk.  Since my horse is prone to periodic "Arabian Moments," I usually just take one out at a time, then switch.  <G>  I find that this helps.  And getting off and walking for a few moments works wonders.  The pain is due to my knees being held in one position while riding at a walk.  Posting allows them to flex and move, hence I don't get the pain.

Subject: [RC] Wide/narrow twist

Okay guys, here's something else to think about in regards to fitting a saddle to the rider. I have been riding in Aussies for years, and I love them. But I have noticed something the past several years.

When I spend a lot of time at a walk, my knees KILL me. Mostly my right knee. As soon as I get off, it quits hurting. And I have this problen in all three of the saddles I ride in. If I do a long ride mixing up gaits, I am fine. (Well, other than being sore all over if I over-do it*grin*)

So.. is it twist? Stirrip length? Changes in MY conformation?
