Re: [RC] Best Hauling Girly Truck? - Laney Humphrey

I'll disagree with you. My trucks have all been automatics and as long as they have enough power, they do huge hills just fine and I don't have to worry about shifting! I love my GMC HD because a tap on the brake downshifts it and I can go down my local 10% grade that's about 2 miles long almost without touching the brakes again.

I can't believe you want an automatic -- manual transmissions are so much better going down the big hills, with a big load! You can put it in the lower gears and not use your brakes.
It worries me that when you go to the auto dealer, all they have on the truck lot are automatics.

Those of you who read my Tevis story will not be surprised to learn
we've decided the time has come for a new truck. (Even Suzy hated
driving that big old stick-y shift diesel.)
What I'm looking for is a nice "girly truck," automatic, that won't
use up a bunch of gas, and as small as possible while still being
able to pull the hills towing the LQ. (I wanted to get a new,
smaller one of those too, but Gary says all I need are some LQ
driving lessons--GRRR!)
Thanks everyone!
