Re: [SPAM] Re: [RC] Old mares and their foals - Chris Paus

LOL. My stallion is 22, a retired race horse. Sometimes I think he still wants to race. He has a little course in his field. he'll be trotting or cantering around and then you can see him kick in the afterburners and as they say on the Mazda commercials, zoom zoom zoom....

Not only do they play hard if they are healthy, but they still like challenges. I have been doing a little dressage work with this boy. Mind you, race horses are taught to run pell mell on the forehand. the other day I got a nearly perfect collected trot out of him and he seemed quite pleased with himself. It was like riding on air. I felt like I needed a top hat and black coat and spotlight on us! His mind is as sharp as his body!

I have never seen a

You ought to see our 30 year old gelding Raffey (HH Rafazon) when he gets going.  He tears around our hilly 10 acres with the rest of the bunch, and sometimes he just gets a wild hair and starts boiling around the pasture by himself, just because he feels good.  He's sleek and shiney, and looks half his age, and some days seems to feel half his age, too.  And he's a fireball going down the trail.  :)
