[RC] 100 mile recommendations - Sisu West Ranch

"...Weight lifters tend to do short, high intensity works which can do significant damage--but they don't stand around in a stall all day on days off, or stand around in a paddock gorging themselves on grass..."

I think you have partly answered my question.

What stabling arrangement is your program based on?

1. The horse stalled most of the day, with some turnout.

2. The horse turned out in a small paddock, say < 1/2 acre, basically alone

3. The horse kept 24/7/365 in a moderate pasture (< about 6 Acres) with 4 to 10 other horses

4. The horse kept 24/7/365 in a large pasture with many other horses.

The reason I ask is that the above variety of stabling produces a great variation in exercise in addition to the training miles.
