[RC] 100 1,2,3 - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: ti Tivers@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== How do I figure out increases in feed and supplements? Is there a rule of thumb?> Maintain or gain body weight. That's the rule of thumb. You can get an electronic scale for about $1200, or less without a platform (build your own). By the time you get to the 4 miles a day level, you should own both a scale and a heart rate monitor. Also, does one take into account GL loading at all (and how does it fit into the program)?> GL is used two ways--during competition as a supplement and immediately post hard exercise. In both cases it's more of a manipulation of blood glucose levels than anything else. It would be a mistake trying to use these essentially "empty" calories as a part of the base ration's energy supply. Looking at the "big picture" and overall goals will keep the process simpler. Thank you again for the very useful information!> No prob.
