[RC] Why they Don't Do 100s - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

But could it also be that those who enter 100s are
self-selected for ability to complete? I would think
that the 100 mile horses probably look better because
they ARE better - they have been conditioned to compete
at this more advanced level. The rider believes they can
complete and (I hope)has information to back that up. If
they didn't, they wouldn't try. My horse and I would look
like we died at the end of 60 miles, so I know better than
to attempt a 100. I am stretching to try the 50.

In response to:
I see so many more horses looking badly in flat 50s.
Most of the time, 100 mile horses look much better.
It must be a mental thing with this generation of riders.
I don't get it.  Cindy
