Re: [RC] Tevis questions - Barbara McCrary

I'd like to propose a question about gender of mules, and perhaps Heidi can answer this one. True that mules cannot reproduce, as they are sterile, but I would think that a male needs to be castrated to prevent sexual behavior typical of an unaltered male animal. Just because he is sterile does not mean he is not interested and may show undesirable behavior.

Is this correct, or not??

Barbara

J could be for John Mule (male)
J could be for Jenny Mule (female)
A mule can't be a Jack as a Jack is a donkey
No reason to geld a mule as they can't repoduce
Odds are he is probably riding a John Mule...but I could be wrong. Anyone
know?
