Just curious...if your horse isn't registered, and you've owned him for  many 
years and don't have a bill of sale, what would suffice?  Something  from 
your vet?  Pictures of you and the horse through your years of  ownership?  
I've 
never thought of that. (not that anyone else would  really WANT to claim 
Cheers!)

If you live in a brand inspection state, most of them offer a permanent
brand inspection card that is considered to be legal proof of
ownership.
