My point was only one vet out of 10 that has listened to my mare in the past 
year has said something about it, including 2 home vets treating her for non 
endurance-related issues or examining for pre-purchase. So I am not 100% 
convinced she does actually have a murmur.

Sorry to hear of your friend's horse - how was the heart attack confirmed? 
Do murmurs lead to heart attacks or just reduced performance?
