Good luck! I hope it was something weird that won't happen again!  In the meantime keep yourself safe! Make sure  you have plenty of slack in the lead every time you handle him. After my experience, please don't hang onto his halter. Also make sure you aren't in a position where you could be caught between him and a fence or wall or something.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post.
I feel a bit better knowing that others have encountered similar experiences. Yes it is VERY scary!!
I'll keep an eye on him and try to work through situations (like fly spray) differently to avoid the head tossing! If it were to happen again I most definately will have a vet check things out - thanks Susan for your post!
