The ROC used to have a Calvary division. Basically you have to ride with no assistance from anyone. You have to carry everything you need for youself and your horse. If your horse pulls a shoe you have to put it back on yourself or ride with a boot you have carried along.

The good news about the OD is normally there is plenty of grass for the horses to eat.
