Re: [RC] Ouch (Tight Rear Muscles) - rdcarrie

It's cute how they quickly learn how good a bath feels!  Here in hot humid East Texas, they seem to really enjoy their post ride bath.  My husband's Paso Fino *really* likes his.  When we first got him, you'd have thought we were trying to kill him...he hated water.  Now, when he has to wait his turn, he's constantly trying to inch his way in closer to the horse being bathed ahead of him so he can get some of the spray.  <G>  When it's his turn, he dosn't move a muscle...just stands there, practically going, "Aaahhhhh."

Here is SoCal, both horses get an all over hose wash after every ride in the hot months. Never had a problem. When it is 100, and your horse is miserable with sweat everywhere, they think that water is a welcome cool off. I untack, pick feet, wash under first and up and over everything after that.
