[RC] Brand Inspections - apleg8'nI am reading all of these threads and not once do I see any mention of the importance of inspections for stolen horses. Personally? I am very happy to read about Ossifer Barney taking so much effort to inspect your paperwork. I had given up that the inspection stations were so diligent as with my travels within this country and outside of this country I have never been asked for my paperwork. I am very much involved with Stolen Horse International. Over 40,000 horses are reported stolen in the US alone every single year. My beloved mare Gigi is still missing after four years. How I hope some inspector in the West that remembers her will take all the time you are talking about to verify her ownership. And while I am at it....Get your horses freeze branded! I cannot emphasize this enough. All of my horses now carry a brand on there rump for all to see. A very small price to pay to insure the safe keeping of your equine partner.
