Re: [RC] Modipher EQ Mist--Has anyone tried it? - Patsy Davis

Thanks,
Maybe the mist would help.  She's been fed in the trailer and doesn't seem afraid of it.  I think it might be more of a separation problem.  She doesn't mind it near as much when she rides with a buddy.

It's funny, we do training rides alone all the time and she is fine but if a buddy is along and we ride away, she is very unhappy.  She will go but she lets you know it's not HER idea.

Mules are a constant source of pleasure and consternation!

Hi Patsy.
I work for a veterinary supply distributor and this is
one of the products we carry. It has a great
reputation, and comes from an excellent company who,
by the way, makes similar products for dogs and cats.
One lady here swears by it. As for personal
experience, it has worked very well on my Dalmatian,
(D.A.P. is the K9 version, Feliway the feline...), so
I would venture the equine works just as well. There
is a definite science behind it. And a mule is
definitely and equine, I don't see a discrepancy
there.

Another thing you might try is backing the trailer
into the barn, and treating it as a stall. Leave it
open so she can walk in and out freely. Feed the mule
her grain and hay there, teaching her that the trailer
is a safe place to be, and, use the mist in conjunction
with it.

When you ride a mule, getting there is all the fun!!
