[RC] Horse running on too much adrenaline - Jonni

Not sure you can fix this before Tevis, as it is only about 9 weeks away. A
horse running on adrenaline will usually burn itself out. They get caught up
in the huge number of horses at the start, won't listen to the rider, and
come in to Robinson Flat WAY too fast. Even the top horses who are going for
a good placing I bet listen to the riders and can be relaxed when needed.

I'd consider going back to the basics, as you would if you were starting a
new horse. At the next ride, leave after most of the riders are gone . Go
slow. Look to relax the horse. Walking, stopping to graze of possible. I
don't think the horses diet is any issue. Sounds like the horse just has
"race brain".

Good luck with her,
Jonni
