[RC] Replacing English billets - Sisu West Ranch

The thread about the wreck reminded me that 4 or so years ago I promised to let everyone know how my new biothane billets held up.

The background is that on my OF Endurance cutback saddle, the English/Dressage style billets were made of leather and I was replacing them every couple of years. I had replaced them most of the time before they broke during a shy. The event that caused me to use Biothane, was a shy in a stream. I ended up in the stream, and the breast collar/crupper prevented a real wreck.

At the time of my previous post, I had about 2 years of use out of the biothane ones I had made and they looked good. After 4 or so more years they are still fine. I heat sealed the holes and ends before hand glueing and sewing them in place. I would guess that in 4-6 more years they may need replacement.
