[RC] History on USA WEC Leasing/Sales - goearth

Good Morning,  This discussion on Valerie and the sale of her horse to the Mideast is a story that we as outsiders will never know, so its impossible to have an adequate discussion on it at all and we should not consider ouselves capable of formulating a viewpoint on something we have no idea at all of the ramifications.  We will never know.

What I would like to bring to this discusssion is my situation on Nominating to a WEC, and specifically the 88 in Ft. Royal.  I was on the Long List and did not make the Short List and the event came to my area and we a doing the catering and I hear there is the opportunity to Lease horses for at the time $1,000 and i meet the Portuguese and a discussion comes up on Leasing BayMar.

Iniatially, I was refused the opportunity to Lease because I was on the LL and therefore not allowed.  To make a long story short it took an agreement between me and the Chef  d'Equipe that allowed me an opportunity to Lease.  He had the power to prevent a USA LL horse from competing against the USA in an event that it was in the nomination for.

Obviously, Times have changed drastically since then and the Chef or the NF does not have this powe,r or choose to follow thru on a procedure that was applied to me in 88.
