Re: [RC] trucks / towing ratings - DaNel Resha

 I'd guess
most 2 horse steel trailers weigh about 2500 pounds to start...minimum.

When my father was helping me get a truck to pull my steel 2 horse trailer 3 years ago he was going to get me a Chevy 1500.  I told him it was not big enough for the job.  My 2 horse steel horse trailer weighs 6500 lbs EMPTY.  Then I had to add the weight of the horses, etc, etc, etc.  Steel Trailers are really heavy.

My brother in law (car salesman) told him I needed a much bigger truck also.  So I ended up getting a 1989 Ford F-250 Stick Shift.  Not my first choice in trucks (I wanted automatic even though I know sticks are better for pulling, and I wanted a King Cab)  But I was given the truck and all I had to do was buy the towing package and break/light hook up.  So I can't complain.
