[RC] wildlife sightings - Linda Dewees

This isn't exactly wildlife, but last month there was a very large flock of sheep working their way around the valley where I live for a couple weeks. I live in the Mojave desert by Ridgecrest (except I'm on the flats) and the terrain is pretty monotonous, burro bushes and creosotes forever. My old lazy, steady, goofy gelding was really curious about the sheep poop on the trail, but he really freaked when he saw the sheep! The baaing and the bells were scary, too. At least when people are little we learn about animals in books, but poor Beau must have thought aliens had landed! I wish he was always that animated though! After that whenever he saw a whitish bush he was afraid it was another sheep! After 13 years of riding these same trails he had never seen anything like it, and it sure took him by surprise! It still makes me laugh!
