[RC] Dispelling Myths and Racing - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I'm new at this having only done one LD ride, a very slow one at that, and even
with my goal of turtling and letting my pony eat/drink and walk whenever the
pace got too fast we still came in 15th out of 18. Not everyone races or has
any desire to race. My pony was happy and healthy at the end of the ride and
was looking for more. She just turned 6 in May, that ride was in March. I
expect to be riding her for many more years and the only win I expect to have
is that accidental one that sometimes happens. That is what endurance means to
me. I took to heart years ago "To finish is to win" when I first heard of the
AERC.

I think the trend of more and better education is the way to go.
