==========================================

About 20 years ago I did that after the finish of a ride. All I
can say is thank goodness it was after our completion! Even
though I only added a tiny bit to the water, my horse almost
turned himself inside out. It was an extremely hot day, yet he
started shivering and running around, pawing and going nuts in
general. Of course I did my best to rinse him off with straight
water, but it took forever for him to get comfortable again, not
to mention what a fool "I" felt. I have never even considered
trying that since. Witch Hazel is gentle and helps clean them
up. I don't think it would have the chilling effect, or "sting"
any ouchies. I am just sticking with good ol water.
