[RC] My New Barefoot Saddle - cschiro

I got my new Barefoot Cheyenne Treeless saddle a couple weeks ago and love it.
My old saddle didn't fit my new arab (saddle too long), so I began saddle
shopping. I thought I really wanted a Bob Marshall, but was getting frustrated
because of pricey additional fees for "custom" items (getting a wide pommel
instead of the standard and getting a larger 16.5 or 17" seat) and the VERY
long wait (8 weeks!) - Uhhh, what was I going to ride in during that time!!??.
My friend told me there were other treeless saddles out there, included one
called Barefoot. I checked it out and ordered one through Candy Kahn. To get a
wide pommel was only $50 extra and you can change out the pommels yourself
because the pommel leather has a zipper. Cool! You could use this saddle on
different width horse and would only take a minute to change out the pommel.
And the size seat I wanted was at no extra charge. This saddle is SOOOO
confortable to ride. It's supportive but VERY cushiony, and not slippery. No
need for meriono wool seat pad or Tush Cushions! I
use it with a EquiPedic pad which Candy also sells. I think my horse like it
better AND he has no dry spots. Plus, it's a couple hundred $ cheaper than the
Bob Marshall saddles. I have never heard the Barefoot saddle mentioned before
on RC, so I thought I would throw the name out if anyone is looking for a
treeless saddle.
