 Pretty good info! The author is only somewhat doctrinaire-pretty good for a 
dressage person or anyone discussing bits! Re the discussion of gags-the author 
fails to mention that the "camoflaged" gags,the ones that look like snaffles 
until one looks closely,are increasingly common among the eventer 
riders,including David O'Connor.In fairness,the author continually re-asserts 
that all the info is being presented in a dressage context. I'd like to see a 
Grand Prix dressage horse going down a steep rocky hill at a canter in the 
middle of a big field trial gallery on a cold December morning,fired up but not 
warmed up.Would the slack stay in the reins?
