Re: [RC] light western saddle clarification - Ericka Nelson

A friend of mine with a very wide backed Karahty (sp?) horse had her horse seen by a professional custom fitter and the Abetta was the best fit.  I did sit that saddle and boy was it wide!  That horse was so wide that it felt wider that the Torsion I sit in now.  Anyway, Abetta was a good fit for that wide backed horse.

Subject: [RC] light western saddle clarification

I may be getting the size wrong.  He currently has what I thought is a
17" western saddle.  Maybe it's actually a 16".  He's a big guy and the
horse is a big wide mustang (table- topped).  So I guess I need a
saddle that is wide for the horse and generous seat for the and and
lightweight if possible (synthetics are fine).  It's just for
occasional light riding  around the ranch, not endurance or anything
heavy duty.
