Re: [RC] rider weight - Lynne Glazer

Do you think that 10 lbs makes the difference between tubby and not? I submit that 10 lbs ain't gonna make a whole lot of difference to ANY horse, big or small. I'm happy for your knees, though, losing extra weight is always nice for anyone's joints.

Is your statement rather intended to get people to consider their choice of horse relative to their own (implied chosen) size or just to spread hate and discontent? Dang!

I was glad someone finally posted a message suggesting that some of these
"tubbies" lose some weight. When I switched from a 15.2, 1100 Arab/Mustang
to an 800 lb. 14.2 horse, I promised him that I would lose 10 lbs. and I
did just that. He is happier, my heart is happier, I feel a lot better and
I can again do a step class w/o killing my knees! When I am riding behind
some of you and I see all that fat hanging over the saddle, it is a real
eye opener and I feel really sorry for the horses.
