Still sounds like a training/respect issue to me. Sounds like people try this, then try that, then try some thing else with him. Ten days with this, 20 with that... John Lyons and Parelli are nothing alike and if you use one, then use the other, you'd have one confused horse. Sounds to me like your horse hasn't a clue what you want and out of frustration acts out. Further, forgive me, it doesn't sound to me as though you know how to ask him for what you want. Find a training method that works for you, learn it and STICK with it, but more importantly, find a professional that you can work with. I read your words and all I can do is cringe, I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but these are 1,000 + pound animals, they can seriously injur or kill you! The least you owe them is clear communication.
