[RC] Difficult Ride... Rides of March - DreamWeaver

Just thought this should be cleared up so no one is discouraged about =
trying this ride next year. There was a mistake or misunderstanding. The =
elevation from the base to the top of that hill was 997', done twice for =
a total of 1996'. Sounds like it was a tough climb though. Don't know =
what the total elevation for the entire 50 miles is, maybe that is =
7000'.

oh thank goodness, I had talked with another rider after the ride (more experienced than me), and we both concurred that we thought that climb was about 2000 feet. Anyway, I was surprised when I read that it was 7000'! <G> I thought wow if my horse climbed that much then I was thinking that my perception of things must be really out of whack!

Maybe the total elevation, total gain and loss---was 7000' on that 20 mile loop? I guessed that the total elevation of up and down would total about 10,000 feet for the whole ride, but I may have overestimated since I'm also not used to the warm weather. When I measured Outlaw Trail the last time I did it, 5 days of that ride measured about 62,000', that was the year Crockett made it easier, ha ha. ;)
