Electricity is powerful stuff.  When she was a small child, one of our
daughters took a pair of pruning shears and cut into an extension cord.
Fortunately for her, she was wearing rubber boots and the shears had
insulated handles.  But it scared her badly and blew holes in the blades of
the shears.

Some friends of mine lost a lovely young mare to this issue.  She blythely

chomped on a fan cord.  The electricity stopped her heart instantly.  Lynn
found her in the stall laying just as she had slid down the wall.


PVC works fine. You can also use electrical conduit.

Hi, this was not directed to me, but I do have an answer.....take a

length of pvc pipe just big enough to fit the plug through, and slide it
down the length of the cord.  You can

even cut it in sections to go around corners.
