[RC] Anyone looking for a water tank? ALSO: How much water to bring? - sharon1359

I got tired of finding just the same four types of water tanks on all the horse
gear websites, so I started looking around for portable drinking water tanks on
the industrial plastics websites.

For this one I have Heidi to thank (I think?) because it's on one of the sites
that sells colored buckets. It's a free-standing 35-gal tank for $59, and if
you buy two you get a 5% discount.  The shipping prices are reasonable too;
it's only $16 to ship from Ohio to Maine. Sorry the URL is so long...

Here's one that's a little different... it's specifically for goosenecks but it
would work with bumperpulls. 130 gallon tank, on sale for February, $130

A question though: how much water do two horses and two or three people use on a
real hot summer weekend? We're talking no more than two nights / three days.
I know I can get a 35-gal tank and refill it if I need to (what a hassle) but
since the 130-gal tank is about the same price as two 35-gal tanks, I'm
wondering if it would make sense to get the bigger tank.

Here's a place where you can get flexible bag-type tank... unfortunately the
smallest size is 250-gal and they don't list the price.

Here's another source for a flexible bag-type tank. This one is $235 for 35-gal
and $265 for 55-gal. Great idea but IMO there's no way it's worth the price.

Thanks for any input you can provide... I'm new at this still and can use the
advice of more experienced horse-campers. :)
