RE: [RC] Anyone looking for a water tank? ALSO: How much water to bring? - Mike Sofen

Be careful about the WEIGHT of water here. At 8 pounds per gallon, a 125
gallon tank would weight 1,000 pounds (a half ton). If you put it in the
bed of your pickup, and you have a 1/2 ton truck, your available carrying
capacity (like your trailer) is ZERO. With a one ton truck, you'll still
have 1,000 pounds of carrying capacity, but if you have a heavy trailer,
you'll be way over limit.

Basically, the only way to carry that much water is to place it in one of
your horse stalls so that the trailer carries the weight.

The other thing - that much water has a tremendous capacity to move. You
will need significant and strong materials to ensure that it stays where you
want it.
