Re: [RC] Kids - Ericka Nelson

Title: Message
i just would like to take this opportunity with this particular thread to point out an observation.
i've seen, only a time or two, mind you, children of about 10, give or take a year, left to fend for themselves at rides, while their parent is riding.
this ride is located on a major interstate hwy.  the restaurant is delicious  and there is a friendly bar with a pool table.  the 10 year old was hanging out, shooting pool, chatting...not causing any trouble at all.
but, i was deeply concerned, as this is a time of looniness with people just grabbing whatever they want and running with it. (a bit dramatic, i know, but i'm wanting to make a point).
i was pulling out that day, (day five of a pioneer ride), and i had breakfast before i left.
when i walked out, i looked at the kid and said "stay smart" and i think he did.
point being...well, the point is obvious, or am i paranoid?

Solve the problem by not allowing children.

Whatever the activity or venue - the problem always seems to go back to slefish parents - whether it is because they leave said progeny alone in camp or that they would tote them along on a ride which is too much for the child, thus causing not only danger for the child but possibly for others out there on the trail.
